For Mary Ann

Few times in life do we really meet a true hero, a person who will singlehandedly change your life. My dear friend Mary Ann is one of these heroes and my life is so much better for her being a part of it. Mary Ann has overcome the impossible and is doing so with flourish and grace. As a tribute to her and her amazing friends that have supported her through the past year, I started a very special portrait. Here is the final result and some pictures of it in progress.

While I enjoy creating these pieces for friends and family, I do sell portraits to anyone interested. All I need from you is a picture that you want recreated (see picture recommendations below).

These custom portraits are great for wedding photos, anniversary photos, military portraits, maternity photos, infant photos, graduation portraits, pet portraits, family portraits, or anything else special to you.

Email me at charcoalbyjenn@hotmail.com with your contact information and I will respond to your email to begin the process. After that, all you have to do is email or snail mail me your picture of choice and I will recreate it to any size you like.

Lead times will vary depending on the intricacy and the size of the portrait but average is 2-3 weeks. I can ship to anywhere you desire.

Sizes and Prices

Charcoal portraits are available in various sizes. Traditional sizes and starting prices are listed below. Custom sizes are available if requested. Prices listed here are average starting prices for each specific size, however, every portrait is unique and the number of subjects, intricacy of the subject(s), and additional requests may affect final pricing. Please note that the prices quoted here do not include framing or shipping.

Picture Recommendations

When considering a picture to have recreated into a stunning & unique charcoal portrait, please consider the following suggestions to ensure the best results. If you have a very special photograph that does not meet all of these criteria, please know that I can still make a beautiful piece for you.

*Clear photographs (no blurs, red eye, or monotone colors)
*High resolution (especially if emailing the photograph, the higher the resolution, the better the detail that can be achieved)
*Good contrast (no monotone colors, no bleached out/over fill-flashed faces)
*Minimal shadows (contrast is good but half a face obscured in shade does not translate well)
*Choose a photograph that is close-up to the subject (distance shots reduce the amount of detail available)
*Choose a photograph that ideally represents your subject (reflects their energy, spirit, emotions, etc)
*Choose a photograph that you want to have enlarged and vividly on display
